Director’s Statement

When I was 14, I hid my dolls underneath my bed while I explored my body. The next day, I gave away my favorite doll. I thought I was too old to play with dolls. An hour later, I had the most panicking cry. My dad ran to the donation spot to see if my doll was still there, it wasn’t. It was a literal grieving process.

The loss of my child-self was the most painful, scary but vital moment in my life. "Vital" because it made me understand that exploring your body sexually is natural and should be a guiltless process. It also doesn’t have to mean the loss of your inner child.

KINDERWHORE is a transparent and vulnerable experience for anybody looking to heal, find, or let go of their inner child.

With all of my fear and pleasure,

Isa

KINDERWHORE is now on the festival circuit and will be released on streaming platforms shortly after that.
